The price of coated paper in China dropped by RMB610 (US$89) per tonne, falling by 6.3% in April month-over-month. As several large coated paper projects were either delayed or cancelled, it is expected that the price will stabilize, reports Forestweb.

The price of newsprint slipped to RMB400/tonne, dropping by 8.5% month-over-month. It is far more difficult to absorb overcapacity than digesting stocks, so it could be difficult for newsprint prices to rebound in the near future.

The price of white paperboard declined to RMB400/tonne, decreasing by 8.3% month-over-month. The price of corrugated paper slipped by RMB450/tonne, or 12.7%. Due to reduced exports , the price revival of this grade depends upon an economic recovery.

The price of solid bleached sulfate (SBS) slumped by RMB671/tonne, or 10%. With the boost of consumption, the price of this grade is expected to maintain an upward momentum in the long run
